Proenza Schouler MAC Collaborate

Proenza Schouler and MAC Collaborate and it's one to Celebrate!!

Proenza Schouler MAC Attack!!!!
I had been eagerly awaiting this collaboration for many months. I remember the very day that I heard about it and though to myself "Nooo, that can't be"! I have been a Huge Fan of MAC for almost a decade and a Huge Fan of Proenza Schouler for almost three years. I first learned of the brand when I was gifted a fabulous bag and I was like "who is this Proenza Schouler" and "why don't I know of them" as my friends looked at me in shock and pity! It was an instant love that goes on well to this day! Now on to the Collaboration: I am going to share with you what I chose from the collection and why.

Here is what I purchased from the Collection:

Nail Laquer in Thimbleweed
I chose Thimbleweed out of the four shades to pick from because it is a classic pinkish nude. It is right on trend with the hint of pink hue in it for Spring and it will be wearable all year round! The other colors are beautiful and believe me I would get them all if I could. I wanted to add that I have had the polish on for three full days now in the picture and have had not one chip. I am very impressed and I know this is quickly going to become my favorite!

Satin Lipstick in Pink Fringe, Blush Ombre in Sunset Beach, Brush 129
I picked Pinkfringe as my lip shade because once again Pink is so on Trend for the Spring and Summer. I was so tempted to get the lighter nude beige shade, but I am so happy with this color that I picked. It just makes me think and feel Happy when I put it on. The packaging of the Lipstick is different than MAC's normal Lipstick packaging in not only the design but the shape. The Lipstick is a square shape and it makes it look and feel so much more glamorous than a regular MAC lipstick.

I picked the Blush Ombre in Sunset Beach over the more Orange Tone one because I plan to wear it with the lipstick and it such a beautiful pink tone to brighten up your face. The blush has a lighter and darker side, so you can pick which side you feel like wearing or swirl them together. It is so fun to play with and has excellent staying power!

There was only one Brush in the Collection and it is a 129. It is like a shorter more glamorous version of the 129 and it is great for applying blush and powder. I have even contoured with it and it worked great!

The last thing that I purchase was the Limited Edition Tote Bag. The bag measure 14x14x7 and it seems a lot bigger in person. I had to get this bag not only because it will come in handy, but it is Fabulous and well made. I love using bags like this when I am out shopping to carry my smaller bags or when grocery shopping to help save on waste. I also had to get this bag because this was how I was first introduced to Proenza Schouler, by a simple gorgeous fabulous bag that I will always remember!

Final Thoughts:

This Collection was everything I thought it was going to be and more. I am so happy that I was lucky enough to get a little a bit of it. Even the Boxes that the Products came in were Amazing.  They have the same matching M∙A∙C Proenza Schouler's signature colour gradient design as the packaging on the products.
Usually I toss my MAC boxes as soon as I open my Product
but I am keeping these for inspiration.
The collection also has some lip pencils and eye pencils to choose from. There is even a fabulous T-Shirt to buy!! I hope you enjoyed this post and have a wonderful day! Please share with me if you have or do end up buying any of the collection. I did not go into too much detail on the Products and Collaboration because they can all be found here on the MAC site: http://www.maccosmetics.com/whats_new/12563/New-Collections/Proenza-Schouler/index.tmpl

Beauty Sleep

Beauty Sleep - Don't We All Want it!!

Beauty sleep is so important! Why do you think Disney named a movie about a Princess called "Sleeping Beauty"?! In fact, sleep in general is very important for your overall health! When you sleep, that is when your cell turnover occurs in your body and most of your free radical damage is reversed. Thus, younger more vibrant looking skin. Beauty sleep only gets more important as we age because you can only fake it so far and for so long. Also, do you really want to feel tired and groggy all day. The better you feel, the more energized you will be and the more radiant you will look.

I was asked by HSN to discuss Beauty Sleep and what I do to get it. I immediately said "Yes", considering they carry some of the Best Skin Care Products on the Market that I personally use. The following is link to an article by Carly Woods discussing 4 overnight Products that you should be using and I fully agree. I am going to elaborate a little on what I do to get the Best Beauty Sleep possible. To read about the four products click here: http://community.hsn.com/t5/HSN-Blogs/4-Overnight-Beauty-Products-You-Should-be-Using/ba-p/539738

1.) I go to bed as early as possible. In fact, a study has been done and showed that every hour slept before 12am was worth 2 hours slept after. I fully agree with this because the earlier I go to bed, even if I get the same amount of hours, the better and more energized I feel.

2.) I never go to bed with out fully completing my "Night Time Skin Care Routine". I think Carly pretty much nailed it. The only factors that I would add is that I make sure my night moisturizer has a retinal in it, so it can be working all night long. I also do a facial mask before bed 2-3 times a week. Which type of mask I pick, depends on the time of year. Now that we are in Spring and my face will not be as dry, I will be using a lifting and firming mask at night. The one I use is perfect because you just apply it to your face with a soft brush before your moisturizer and go to sleep. There is no packets to open, masks to unfold and position on your face. That is the last thing you want to be doing when you are tired and going to bed. This one is perfect, just apply it and let it go to work while you sleep.

3.) I turn off or mute all technology about a half hour before I get into bed. I find that if I am lying in bed and can't sleep, than I will turn on the television or start playing with apps on my phone. I keep the television remote out of reach and my phone out of arms length.

4.) I make sure to eat something with sugar in it about an hour before I go to bed with a full glass of water. If I am hungry, than I cannot sleep. There has also been a study done about the body and how sugar can help you sleep better. You obviously want to eat good healthy sugars, so I have a bowl of fruit and get my sugar from there. I eat it with a full glass of cold cucumber water to not only fill my belly, but to help hydrate my body and face. This also helps me to wake up looking and feeling refreshed.

5.) I turn down the temperature in my bedroom to about 66 degrees. I can't sleep if it is hot and I can always add blankets if I get chilly. The body likes to sleep in cooler dark conditions, so this helps me.

Final Thoughts:

I am going to once again reinforce how crucial sleeping is not just for your looks, but for your overall health. I hope that after you take care of your Nightly Skin Care Routine, that maybe you can follow some of these tips and they will help you get those extra beauty hours that you so beautifully deserve.
