Dior Vernis Tutu 155

Dior VERNIS

Tutu 155

I thought I would write a quick post about Dior Nail Polish Tutu 155. It is such a beautiful pink color that I could not pass up writing about it. I know its been around for a few months since it was launched for their Cherie Bow Spring Collection! But it is just too pretty of a color for Spring to not post on!

Here is the Skinny on it:

Tutu 155 - A Pink imbued with softness.

Haute Couleur
Extreme Wear
Nail Lacquer

I had not bought a Dior Nail Polish in quite some time and what I liked about it most was that the top of the cap comes off making it easier to polish your nails.

Also the brush is a lot different that most brushes that I have come across. I think the way that the brush is designed and how pigmented the color is makes it easy to do your nails in just one coat.

This color is very ballet pink, but not in a childish way. It is wonderful for the spring and goes well with so many different outfits choices. I have worn it with a rock and roll vibe outfit (leather leggings, high heals, and a low back top) and I have worn it with a very uppity shift dress to the knees and ballet flats. Both worked!

Final Thoughts:

I love this color. It brings me back to the days of my ballet. I did ballet on and off for over 20 years. I still have a make shift studio in my basement for when I feel like breaking out the tights, leotard and ballet flats (couldn't pay me to put my feet in toes shoes EVER again) and this color make me what to do it!!

Becca Lip Primer Perfector

BECCA

Lip Priming Perfector

First of all, I would like to say, where has Becca been all my life. I had heard of the brand last year and had seen rave reviews of their products, so I checked out their website. I was impressed and thought, I have got to put them on my list to try out. Than, here I am at a Sephora VIB event, and right in front me is a whole section of Becca. It was like it was meant to be...The two of us to meet!

I am going to post on everything that I bought and believe me, I have been using what I bought for about two weeks now and I am loving it! I cannot wait to go back for more.

So here is the skinny on the Lip Priming Perfector:

What it is:
A lip-perfecting formula designed to smooth, define, and prime lips for long-wearing color that won’t fade or feather.

What it does:
Prep lips for perfect, lasting color. Formulated with Hyaluronic Filling Spheres to minimize the appearance of fine lines and Lipocire A to smooth and hydrate the lips, this silky crème creates an invisible canvas for long-wearing lip color that won’t fade, stray, or feather.

What else you need to know:
This Nude formula will not change lip color.

Now let me tell you what drove me to this product. I was obsessed with Benefit's Lip Plumper. Now it wasn't one of those clear lip plumpers that you put on and feel the tingling sensation. It was more like a flesh toned lip primer that they called a lip plumper. I would apply it over my lips, thus causing a more smoother, firmer surface to apply my lip products too. I believe that the extra layer of the product (it was a tiny bit on the thick side) was what caused the lips to appear to be fuller. Which is why they called it a Lip Plumper. Unfortunately they stopped making the product (I hate when that happens) and I was on a LONG hunt for a substitute. I could find many lip primers that were clear, but they would just dry out my lips and served no purpose. I could also find many lip plumpers, but to be honest, I really do not need my lips to be any bigger. I assure you though, they does not stop me from buying them and using them. I love to show them off and accentuate them, you got that right!!

Here is the Becca Lip Primer Color. It is a beautiful nude color.
You can layer it though to get that thicker effect,
to plump your lips.

I do want to state that for those who have tried the Benefit Lip Plumper. The Becca Lip Primer is not as thick and is defiantly no where near the color.

As you can see, the two compared are no where near
the same in thickness & color. Although, the Benefit color on top
is usually more beige flesh tone (like a concealer), I think it has changed
color with age.

I saved my Last Tube as a Tribute
to my "Hall of Famers" Drawer

So when I saw this lip primer on Becca's website I was drawn to it, because I could tell it was not completely clear. My theory was that it would act somewhat in the same way that the benefit one did, and not only would my lip products stay on longer but my lips would appear to be fuller. Just like with makeup on your face, you want to apply lip products to a more smoother, hydrated, prepped surface. It will not only go on better, but it will look better and last longer. This causing you lips to appear to be fuller. A well dressed lip, always appears fuller!

Final Thoughts:

I am OBSESSED with this Lip Primer! I plan on stocking up in case they ever stop making it. I never want to be in that situation again. I love using it under lipstick and gloss. If I am not wearing makeup, I will always have at least gloss on and this makes it stay on longer. I also like it better than the what I was using before, because I find it to work better and be more hydrating. The hydration is probably due to the hyaluronic filling spheres. Gosh do I love anything Hyaluronic!! Now if your looking for a lip primer, this is it! Why wouldn't you want your lips to look better and your lip products to go on and stay on better!!

Derek Lam For Design Nation Kohl's

Derek Lam

Design Nation for Kohl's

You know me! SikGlam Never misses a Design Nation Launch. I had been patiently waiting for this one, since the Narciso Rodriguez line which was inspired by Istanbul. The Derek Lam line was inspired by Rio De Janeiro. I thought this was just too perfect, since I am going on a tropical vacation soon and will be needing clothes for it. This shopping trip really got me excited for my trip! When I think of Rio, I think of a tropical warm place with an ocean breeze, and that's just the kind of place that I am going too.

So here is what I bought:

Striped Sheath Dress

Looks MUCH better on!

I had to get this dress! Sheath Dresses are probably one of most favorite types of dresses. This dress will be perfect for the warm weather. It can be dressed up on down depending on how you accessorize it.

Striped ShirtDress

Once Again, Looks MUCH better on.

I had to have this shirt dress. The colors seemed so tropical to me. You can roll up the sleeves and it can  be worn it so many different ways. You can wear it as a dress, opened up over a tank top and jean shorts, or as a cover-up to the matching bikini.

Underwire Midkini Swim Top

I absolutely adore this print!

This Swim Top is going to be amazing on my trip. Not only will I be able to wear it as a swim top, but I will be able to wear it as a top with shorts. It could also be worn underneath a see through blouse. There are so many possibilities.

Ruched Scoop Swim Bottoms

This swim bottoms provide just the right amount of coverage.

Floral Tunic Dress

This Print is going to Look Amazing
with a Tan!

This Tunic Dress was another great find for my trip, since it can be worn in so many ways. I can wear it as a day or night dress, as a beach cover-up, or casual by pairing it with leggings.

Chambray Jumper Dress

I love that is has Pockets!

This will be perfect for hot island and summer days. I love how it is form fitting and very flattering to the figure. This jumper dress is a perfect no brainer for the summer, when you want to look cute and throw something on fast.

Splatter Peplum Top and Pieced Crop Pants in NightShade

I am not positive if I would wear the two of these together. I would probably wear them separate. They are different prints within the same color scheme, so I paired them together to see how it would look. But I think I would wear them separately after seeing them together.

Chambray Capris

I am not really into capris, I really never have been. But I just thought these would be so perfect for my trip. I could wear them with a simple white tank top and still appear pulled together.

Striped Shorts

These shorts are so soft, comfortable and stylish at the same time. Stripes are so spot on for the spring/summer that I could not pass them up. They will be so easy to pull on and wear to the beach.

These are the last few items that I got while I was at Kohls, that I thought I would share with you. I will most likely be bringing them on my trip and wearing them a lot this summer.

Jennifer Lopes Solid Trouser Shorts

I got these because, who doesn't love a pair of short black comfy shorts.

Jennifer Lopez Lace Babydoll Dress

The Color is Vapor Blue

This Dress will be amazing on hot days. It can also be worn over leggings or ankle jeans with a blazer.

LC Lauren Conrad Leggings

Love the Floral Prints!

I think I buy a pair of leggings every time I shop. I think I have a pair in every shade, texture, and print you could imagine. I could not resist theses (even though I already have floral) because they are so soft and they are long!! I have long legs and sometimes its hard to find long leggings. So I get them when I can.

Final Thoughts:

I am very happy and feel very blessed that I got to purchase Derek Lam for Design Nation at Kohl's today. It worked out so perfectly with the way the line was designed and the timing of my trip. I also loved how the line was designed based on a city that is both modern and timeless, two things that I look for in clothes. I can't wait to wear them on my trip, this summer, and maybe even sooner if the weather ever warms up!

Thanks,
